Legacy of Brutality

Nowhere else in the world does an eardrum shattering, teeth chattering and gut busting assortment of gain and reverb laden chord progressions transcribed to an amp through slightly chatter-some rail humbucker pickups from a double necked, ivory fret inlaid, drop-tuned, Gibson Les Paul, Flying V style guitar –overlain with automatic rifle-esque rapid fire kicks from a dangerously taut double bass drum and the sickly melodic, half screamed tirades of a sweaty, oversexed and altogether barbaric leather-lunged crooner– garner as much reverence from a literal legion of hellish demon spawn (mostly black t-shirt clad, pasty face teenagers with the occasional jaded ex-hipster and true blooded thrash metal sociopath) as it does in the Western portion of the Scandinavian Peninsula; vengeful gods of all things “heavy” and Cthulhu, dark lord of chaos, discord, madness and patron saint of Black Metal unite to preserve Norway, the land of white face paint, fake blood and troublesome piercings!

  2. Very Interesting post. The writer uses his verb's and diction to help the reader embody what heavy rock is all about. Not being to big of a listener my self, the unique verbiage and diction seams to be an attempt to sway the reader towards the true feeling of rock, thus going at the Pathos part of the triangle. That being said I am assuming that this post is about heavy rock, however that may be a wrong assumption. Gibson Les Pau is mentioned" a solid body electric guitar originally developed in the early 1950s " noted by the all trusted wikipedia, Black metal (sounds a lot like heavy metal to me), fake blood and .....etc all of which seam to be reference to what I call "heavy metal". Which could lead to another argument, what exactly genre really is, but I will take ray charles advice on this one, and default to the fact that there are only two types of gener's good and bad music. Back on subject ( I Love talking about music). The attempt at pathos, is a successful one. Going through all the verbs words, and in my eyes, some sort of puzzle that I had to put together: it was rather fun, and what some philosophers might consider, an emotional experience. In terms of a grammatically correct sentence... questionable, but not in a negative effect to the writer. My biggest question the first time I read this was, is the writer not using the comma correct, and not using enough of them? Than after reading a few times I reconsidered: When describing something that is fast I will use words like wow, lighting, flash, however when describing something, like a sub "genre" of music, music being a sentence with words that flow a SPECIFIC way, it would make sense to describe it in the same manner. So assuming that the writer actually attempted to set up the style of the genre with contiguity use of a comma, than there were only a few possible mistakes. I question for one the design, and if the beginning flows through the end smoothly. And lastly I am not 100 percent that there run on. However thats always questionable when someone is trying to create a sentence 75 Plus words.

All and all very entertaining !
